Enable | Disable Administrative Shares

  • Start > Run > type “regedit” (without the quotes) > press Enter
  • Browse to HKLM > System > CurrentControlSet > Services > lanmanserver > parameters
To enable administrative shares :
  • Change the value of AutoShareServer to 1
  • Change the value of AutoShareWks to 1
To disable administrative shares :
  • Change the value of AutoShareServer to 0
  • Change the value of AutoShareWks to 0
